Peoria Reads 2018: Emergency Preparedness Training: The Pillowcase Project

The Pillowcase Project teaches kids how they and their households can best prevent, prepare for and escape from a home fire and what causes natural hazards like tornadoes. Kids will learn how they can prepare for and stay safe when a disaster becomes an emergency. Practical skills will be shared for coping with and staying calm during emergencies and stressful situations. Attendees will receive the My Preparedness Workbook and a sturdy pillowcase to hold their own emergency supply kit. Attendees will have time after the presentation to decorate their pillowcase. Pre-Registration is recommended by Monday, March 26 by contacting Peoria Public Library Programming Department at 497-2150 or email programmingdept@ppl.peoria.lib.il.us.
