City Cemetery was located on Lincoln Avenue in the five acres now known as Lincoln Park. Originally named "The Public Graveyard" it opened in 1842 and was closed by the City of Peoria in 1886. The current address is 1312 W. Lincoln Avenue, Peoria, Illinois, 61605.

At this time, no official burial records have been located but in 2009, during a library expansion, extensive research is being done to try to recreate City Cemetery records.  If you have information about an ancestor that was buried there, please contact 309.497.2000 or email publicrelations@ppl.peoria.lib.il.us.
