Sweet September Music Events are Free
Music in the McKenzie continues this September with Beth Bombara on Sunday, September 29 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the North Branch McKenzie Room. This ongoing musical series has built a regular following as month after month Peoria Public Library brings acoustic sounds from musicians who play every type of music and every type of instrument. From small groups to solo artists, Peorians can experience musicians who are new to the area and are often on their way up the ladder of stardom. Always free and presented in the comfortable environs of the accessible McKenzie Room, these mini concerts are the perfect way to enjoy a Sunday afternoon. Beth Bombara has developed a unique sound based on her favorite rock, blues and folk singers as well as from the many places she has toured. She is a singer-songwriter with a versatile multi-instrument repertoire. CD sales will help support Friends of Peoria Public Library. If you would like to know more, please call 497-2120.
Also appearing this month, on Saturday, September 21, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. are
Jeanie B! and the Jelly Beans for another installment of Kids Rock at the PPL in the Peoria Public Library North Branch McKenzie Room. Jeanie B is critically acclaimed, an award winner and in rotation on Sirius XM. She is a lifelong singer/songwriter who started playing the guitar at the age of 12. The rest of the Jelly Beans band is made up of professional, seasoned, fun-loving veterans on the rock, country and roots music circuit. Their sound is Americana roots music —a mixture of bluegrass, country, blues, and enough rock ‘n’ roll to keep everyone dancing! Jeanie B! delivers a live show that is a dance party with young and old alike up on their feet and singing along. CD sales will help support Friends of Peoria Public Library.
