AARP Foundation operates the AARP Tax-Aide program under a cooperative agreement with the IRS.
AARP Tax Help 2021:
AARP tax preparers will offer free tax help starting at two Peoria Public Library locations starting March 2.
To make an appointment:
Call AARP volunteers at (309) 497-2131 or (309) 497-2137 to schedule your tax help appointment at either Main or North Branch Library.
Appointment calls will be answered from 9 am. to 3 p.m. every Tuesday through Friday until Feb. 26.
Messages can NOT be left. Please continue to call during the hours and days listed above to schedule an appointment.
Due to COVID, walk-ins will not be allowed this year. Everyone must have an appointment.
AARP staff will give you instructions once you have a set appointment.
NOTE: Peoria Public Library staff cannot schedule your appointment.
Peoria Public Library is pleased to offer a safe space for AARP to offer tax preparation, but the library is not responsible or liable for the tax help offered.
We will have COVID protocols in place, including social distancing.
AARP will provide tax help appointments starting March 2 through May 25.
Basic 1040 forms and a limited number of instruction booklets are available. Call 497-2000 to check on availability.

The State of Illinois is only providing IL 1040 forms and instructions.
Associated schedules will need to be printed from the website www.tax.illinois.gov or Illinois taxpayers can file their I-L 10-40 forms for free at mytax.illinois.gov.
